ECLIPSE : BENDING THE RULES

She was there when life sprung and advanced on that planet
Hovering, bound to the body to preserve the peace
For without her, the place would spiral into chaos
She can't get closer for a better look
At what she gave her whole life for
For there would be catastrophic consequences
She can't up and leave
The planet needs her presence in its vicinity
So, by choice, by heart, she sticks around
Because she found love in the life on that planet
But this hovering being is sad, dismayed
Because she lives in the shadow of the planet
And only by the light of a star can she be seen
Only when the star and planet choose for her to be seen
And when this happens
Life is on a standstill on the planet
But there's this rare moment
Where she defies the status quo
And she wants to be seen in the daylight
So she intervenes in the sun's routine
For the star shines brighter
Than the light she reflects from it
If life won't see her light during the day
Then it shall see her shadow during this time
For once, very rarely she steals the show
And makes herself known to the planet's life
And, indeed, she is a sight to behold in her rebellion
For,once, she finds a loophole
To be seen during the day
And make the star not to be
To be recognized by a peculiar way
By casting a shadow, instead of shining a light
Doesn't break the rules, but finds a way
Once every long time, she treats itself
To being the talk of the day
Instead of being the norm of the night
She leaves her post in a turned-off world
And goes to a world teeming with bustling vigor
And, oh, how the tables have turned
The star in the shadow, and her in the spotlight
Quite the paradox, wouldn't you say?
